Yesterday from 19h in the full Showroom of New Gallery the exhibition Taste of Home was presented together with dishes prepared by the collective Taste of Home. Emina Bužinkić opened the exhibition introducing guests to the background of the project, while chef Sadou explained in detail every dish prepared, that the audience soon had a chance to taste. There was Middle Eastern hummus, falafel, baba ganoush, two kinds of rice, Spanish gazpacho, Ethiopian shiro and fir fir and a few sweets, including a local nut roll, and fruit salads.

Zinka Mujkić, one of the participants of the workshop and a visitor of the exhibition explained that food is a great way of connecting people. „The message of the project hits home, while you are cooking or enjoying the food you can hear different experiences from people, you get to talk about important topics, and you get to create relations on that first, basic level – the love for food“, she concluded. Lovorka Ibrić, one of the guests, also had only words of praise. „Taste of Home brings a great idea and I think you can open the topic of refugees to people with this approach a lot better than with discussions or lectures. Even though things like that are also needed, food is a much more direct approach in reaching people and showing them  we are all not that different after all“, she stated.

The last day of the Refugee Week programme brings us the film projection „Serbistan“ with a discussion about migration flows, in Dokukino from 18h, organised by CMS and Restart.
